The Lilac Show

Toe in the Water – this my first Green:Inspired:Art post.  Be gentle, I’m a newbie.  And how many almost-74-year-olds get to say that!  Green:Inspired:Art is a small not-for-profit whose motto is The Creative Re-Use of everyday things.  We hope to gently nudge people into being more careful about the environment.  We do this thru art exhibits, art programs where people make things from discarded stuff.  We’ve worked with second graders through senior citizens and everyone has fun.

On last Sunday, 8/9/2015,  we were on the Lilac, a wonderful ship launched as a lighthouse tender in 1934.  Artists who work with recycled items showed their wonderful creations and people had a chance to help decorate a model lighthouse with strips of old plastic bags.  We will do more things like this in the future.
